Below is a list of books that I’m either currently reading, have read and liked, or absolutely love! It’s a mix of middle-grade, young adult, and adult selections. If you’ve got a recommendation, add it in the comments.

Post a commentNice selection of books that you have here. Both on your bookshelf and what you’re reading now.
Thanks. It’s not even a fraction of what I’ve got in queue.
I can imagine so. And it is as Stephen King said, to paraphrase, he said that to be a writer you have to do two things: read a lot and write a lot. If you don’t have time for one, you don’t have time for the other.
Is that what’s wrong with my writing these days??? haha I spend so much time writing that I haven’t been able to read as much. And when I did take time to read, I used that time to read Dan Brown. I should have picked something better (in my opinion).
What’s wrong with Dan Brown?
Nothing with him in general. Loved some of his other books. Not a fan of Inferno, but that’s because of my absolute love for Florence, Italy and for Dante’s Inferno – neither of which he did justice for. (see my blog post for my other thoughts)
That I can understand. After all, I once wrote an essay about why I think “Twilight” is the worst vampire story written. And what’s more is that I’ve also undertaken a small pet project of re-writing and reshaping Twilight. I suppose to show that even a no-talent hack like me can make that story better. Or at the least, more bearable.
Ah, but the best mark of a critic of a work is one who is educated. Even the pieces I hate the most (and Twilight is on that list), I’ve read them. I seriously don’t like people who hate without ever having finished a piece. For my future works, readers can hate it all they want as long as they’ve actually read the whole thing.
Yup and I have read Twilight. And it was a rather teeth gnashing experience. Almost ranks up there with trying to read “Billy Budd the Sailor” by Herman Melville.
If I may ask, would you be willing to look at my Twilight re-write as well?
I will try to fit it in between finishing up my rough draft. I’m hitting that pretty hard, but as you said – here has to be time to read.
No question there. As for me, I’m reading “The Strain” by Guillermo Del Toro. Nice read so far.
I love that you show all the covers of the books you’ve read. Do you do anything in particular to get them to line up nicely? I always struggle to get images where I want them in a post (I don’t know html).
I’m sure there’s a way to plan how they line up, but no – I just imported them and sized them how I wanted, then spaced the same in between all of them. Thanks for the compliment! I haven’t updated it lately – I should do that as I’ve read lots more!
